The Tanzania Entomological Association (TEA) was founded by a small group of entomologists from the Tropical Pesticides Research Institute (Arusha) and the Sokoine University of Agriculture (Morogoro) in December 1992.
The Association was officially inaugurated in April 1995 and formally registered under the relevant national regulations in June 1995.
The Secretariat of the Association is at the Sokoine University of Agriculture which is the current host of the Association.
